About me
I’m Michael Baer — a community leader, servant-hearted professional, and proud East Tennessean who believes that true success is measured not by titles or wealth, but by the kindness and respect we show to others.
After beginning my career in law enforcement, I carried forward the lessons of service, compassion, and accountability into every chapter of my life. Today, I serve as Chief People and Compliance Officer at K&P Remodeling, where I founded the Culture and Community Outreach division to make giving back part of our daily work. Through initiatives like blessing boxes, food pantries, and disaster relief efforts, I’ve helped grow K&P into a company known not only for quality service, but also for its impact on the communities we call home.
I’m also deeply engaged in nonprofit and civic leadership. I have served as President of the Board for Project One Life, a youth mental health organization, and currently am the President of NAMI Knoxville, working to expand mental health support for families and individuals.
At the heart of everything I do is a belief in second chances and redemption. My own journey has taught me that failure is not final — it’s an invitation to rise, rebuild, and give back. That’s why I’ve committed my life to lifting others, creating opportunities, and ensuring that no one in our community is left behind.
Whether it’s through business, nonprofit work, or public service, my mission is simple: to build a culture of compassion, connection, and community where everyone has the chance to thrive.
